• General Physical Education-

    Intergral to Health & Physical Education is the acquisition of movement skills, concepts, and strategies that enable students to confidently, compently and creatively participate in a range of physical activities. Students develop expertise in movement skills, physical activities participation and enhanced performance.

    Students are exposed to a large range of sporting opportunities from traditional to the non traditional activities. Students are assessed against a number of outcomes. Skills for Physical activity, Self management skills and interpersonal skills are outcomes covered throughout and assessed twice yearly to enable students to progress.

     Course Description:

    Health Education teaches students how to enhance their own and other's health, wellbeing and physical activity participation in a varied and changinh contexts. It offers students an experiential curriculum that is contemporary, relevant, challenging, enjoyable, and physically active.

    Currently students are assessed on their knowledge of health education topics in a variety of ways. Written assignments, posters, pamphletes, tests and observation are all (but not confined to) assessment tools.

  • Physical Education Studies contributes to the development of student’s physical, social and emotional growth. Students learn about physiological, psychological, and biomechanical principles and apply these to analyse and improve personal and group performances in physical activities. Throughout the course, students learn through integrated written, oral and active learning experiences. The course also provides students with opportunities to develop skills that will enable them to pursue personal interests and potential in physical activity as athletes, coaches, officials, administrators and/or volunteers
